We thought we would try something a bit different. Our garden is beginning to look very bare, the leaves have fallen from the bushes and trees and what is left is looking very brown. There’s nothing to attract birds so we made some handmade bird feeders using cookie cutters.
What you need:
- bird seed
- raisins
- pack of suet
- string
- scissors
- cookie cutters
This is a really easy activity and there is plenty of scope for little fingers to get involved. Empty the pack of suet into a bowl and add the bird feed and raisins.
Mix with your hands so the suet combines with the other ingredients. We then filled two large cookie cutters with the mixture, making sure every bit was filled. Then I cut two lengths of string and pushed half into the top of each mould so they could be hung.
We then put our filled cookie cutters in the fridge to set, leaving them for a couple of hours, before removing them really carefully from each mould.
Hang in your garden and wait for the birds!

Not only is this a wonderful activity for this time of year, but you made them look so cute too!!!! Adorable.
