NHS Rocks and Comfort Pebbles

We love painting and decorating rocks to hide where we live. It’s a really popular hobby where we live and we have a lovely, active Facebook group where we can share pics. My children love to decorate rocks too and it’s something we’ve been enjoying together after home schooling (which isn’t going brilliantly). Craft has always helped us escape and we are doing more than ever at the moment.

Over the last few weeks we’ve created a fun window display with rainbows and Thank You’s to our lovely key workers. It’s become a bit of a talking point and I keep seeing people taking photos of it as they walk past!

I know that some people aren’t hiding painted rocks at the moment. However my daughter is a little magpie and can’t stop picking them up so I am making sure if she does pick up a rock she doesn’t touch her face and washes her hands as soon as she gets home. We’re keeping our rocks to hide when it is safe to do so, but that’s a personal choice.

NHS Rocks!

We wanted to add some painted rocks to our window display so have made a few over the last few weeks. Rainbows were the simplest but most fun designs to decorate.

But we had fun making some lucky 4 leaf clover rocks, as well as some special NHS and key worker rocks too.

I’ve given these a coat of varnish to seal our designs and can’t wait to hide them as soon as we can.

Comfort Pebbles

Comfort pebbles 2020 is a joint initiative between Love on the Rocks UK Facebook group and Liz Searle CEO Keech Hospice Care and HospiceUK. The aim of ComfortPebbles is to provide predominantly Covid-19 patients in hospitals and hospices with a hand-decorated pebble which includes a personal message from their family member which can be kept with them during this challenging time of being separated.
Please bear in mind there are some specific rules that you must adhere to in order to participate. These can be found in the rules of the Comfort Pebbles 2020 Facebook group.

Those rocks are brilliant and I have just sent this post to my sister so she can get my nephews to put their artistic skills to use, they have already decorated every window in the house with banners and signs of various sorts x
