Monday Happy List

Monday Happy List {Week 257}

Beaver badges

I love to start the week by writing the Monday Happy List. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing.

Monday Happy List {Week 257}

Family Life

The children are continuing to settle into their new classes at school which I’m really happy about. Little Sis has been given access to a website called Times Tables Rock Stars which she just loves. She’s embracing her homework (and she seems to have a lot!) but is also happy with her new routine and sports clubs.

I went to meetings after school for both of them and I think they are both going to enjoy themselves. The topics they are studying are fun and there are some brilliant school trips too. Big Brother was awarded the Star of the Day at school for being quiet and organised which he was very pleased about.

Reading

I’m still reading The Animals at Lockwood Manor. It’s a good book but I’m just not finding as much time to read now I’m back at work. I have a few more books lined up including The Photographer of the Lost and The Women At Hitler’s Table to read.

Making

My youngest was finally awarded her Cycling badge at Beavers as she learned how to ride her bike over the summer. She just loves cycling and was so pleased to be awarded it. It’s already stitched on to her Beavers jumper along with all the others.

I’ve also picked up my Shipping forecast quilt again. I’m determined to finish it this year!

Things to do in London

We had a weekend out of London so went blackberry picking which we all enjoyed. The hedgerows were full of sloes and rose hips and I was dreaming of all the hedgerow jelly I could make!

Thanks for reading and have a lovely week!

    Times Tables Rockstars is a big thing at the moment – my kids have been using it at home for a year but their school have just clocked onto it this September.

    Argh, you have reminded me that I have 3 new badges to sew on to Sebby’s jumper. We have been doing times tables rockstars too, as well as Mathletics, Phizifit and spelling shed – homework all seems to be online now
