Disney Heroes cards from Sainsbury's

Summer Holidays Edit {Week 255}

Posted on September 2, 2019 by jenny

I love to start the week by writing the Monday Happy List, especially my special Summer Holidays edition. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing.

Summer Holidays Edit {Week 255}

We loved Bank Holiday Monday, deciding to spent it at home in London for once. We took the children out on their bikes and my 7 year old finally nailed riding her bike without stabilisers! It was great watching her go and now she’s super keen to ride her bike every day!

Our week was pretty quiet but the children finished the Summer Reading Challenge and got their Back to School haircuts. They decided to start collecting Disney Heroes cards from Sainsbury’s, as well as the new Lego minfigure series. We are all ready to start the new school year, but pretty sad our summer adventures are over.

Reading

Currently reading The Confession by Jessie Burton, her third book. I’m really lucky to be sent some lovely books to review but I also request books via NetGalley in exchange for a feature on my blog. If you are looking for more books to read then sign up is free. It’s a site I would recommend if you love to read.

Making

The children were gifted some National Geographic STEM kits from Bandai which have kept them occupied over the last week of their summer holidays. I liked the fact they were fun but educational, it felt good to sneak some learning into their holiday!

Things to do in London

This week I shared our recent adventures to the Leake Street Graffiti Tunnel in London. My kids love street art and this felt like a great opportunity to see a lot in one place.

We are looking forward to London Open House over the 21st-22nd September. I’ve always loved exploring London and it’s a great chance to see inside some of London’s landmarks. Over the years we’ve been to No. 10 Downing Street, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the London Eye, Westminster Hall and so many more buildings.

Have a great week everyone!

    My children loved doing the summer reading challenge. I have to confess that they have done so much better at reading across the summer than I have.
