Family Life Monday Happy List

Five Happy Things {Week 231}

Hope you had a great weekend. I love to start the week by writing Five Happy Things. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing. However, this week I had a hard time finding something to write about. We had the quietest weekend (thanks to a 2 hour dentist appointment on Friday afternoon) which meant we didn’t do much over the weekend. That’s just life though, not every day or week can bring adventure!

Monday is my day off but it’s always pretty busy. I’ve started making myself to do lists to make sure I get everything done whilst the kids are at school. I help at Beavers on a Monday evening and I am helping with the Cook badge so have been busy planning and shopping for that on my day off.

We celebrated Pancake Day on Tuesday. I’m afraid I cheated and bought ready made ones from Waitrose, they taste much nicer than any I can make! My son had his with Nutella, I went for lemon and sugar, whilst my daughter covered hers with everything then refused to eat it!

World Book Day was celebrated on Wednesday and Thursday. My daughter went dressed as George from Captain Underpants, my son wore his pyjamas and dressing gown, and I went as The Cat in The Hat. Luckily we picked up some of the World Book Day books last weekend as they had already run out at our local book shop by the weekend.

Our weekend was super quiet but we managed to try making some cinnamon buns for the first time. They were delicious so we definitely need to make them again. I also whipped a cute little Moda Matchbox quilt kit I bought myself. It felt good to make things and enjoy some quiet time.

The children were really behaved this weekend and did their homework without a moan. They spent yesterday afternoon having some fun with some of The National Geographic range of experiment-based kits. The Shark Dig Kit and the Gemstone Dig Kit kept them busy digging for treasure and was only slightly messy. I can’t wait to tell you more about these later this week.

Have a great week!

    Makin cinnamon buns is on my must-do list, I really want to make traditional Danish ones! Such a fun thing to have a go at doing.

    What a lovely week you’ve had. I’m also enjoying Pancake Day each year, can’t miss that one.
