I’m sure I should be sharing some of our Halloween crafts with you but I’m just not quite done with Autumn yet. Yesterday we had a slow walk home from school as we were all admiring the gorgeous leaves. We walk past some beautiful trees and you can’t help but stop and pick up a selection of falling leaves.

A few weeks ago we made a lovely Autumnal sun catcher with our collection of leaves. The colours changed so quickly but I love having the children’s art work up around the house, so it stayed up for a good few weeks. We collected a great selection of Autumn leaves yesterday and took them home to craft with. There are so many fun things to do with Autumn leaves, and now we’re adding making our own leaf monsters to the mix.

All you need to make your own leaf monsters is a selection of leaves and some googly eyes. First we cut the stalks from our leaves.

Then we stuck the leaves on to a sheet of white card.

When the glue had dried the children decorated their leaf monsters with the googly eyes. My daughter added in some hands and feet to her leaf monsters.

I really love the Maple leaves. My daughter layered them to look like strange people with very long noses. My son drew a whole story around his creations. I just love his imagination and his alien leaf people.
