Family Life Monday Happy List

Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things

Happy Monday everyone. Hope you had a great weekend. I love starting off each week by writing my Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things blog post. It’s a great chance to reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week. I can’t believe I’m on Week 180 already!

I’m a Section Leader at Beavers and both my children attend our local group. My 8 year old is waiting for a place in Cubs as he’s been a Beaver for 2 years. He’s been working his way through all the badges and last week was awarded his Digital Citizen badge which he was really pleased about. He’s pretty much run out of room for any more badges on his uniform so I really hope a place opens up for him in Cubs soon. Then I will get the fun job of un-picking all his badges and sewing them on his Cubs blanket.

I was really excited to win a bundle of Poppy Chancellor products over on Instagram recently. I don’t enter many competitions but I love the work of Poppy Chancellor and her Cut It Out! book. As well as a copy of the book, I received a Lady Macbeth papercut, one of her cards sold through Papier and a super cute pin badge for my collection.

Last Friday before the snow hit London I went into the West End for the day. My first stop was Hamleys toy shop on Regents Street for the launch of their new Lego section. It’s had a makeover and there are lots of fun things for kids to do. I also took the chance to go and visit the Ocean Liners exhibition at the V&A, using my National Art Pass for half price entry. It’s a great exhibition which I want to write more about.

We’ve been sent some lovely toys to review so we were quite busy testing toys and also crafting last week. We added some new unboxing videos to our YouTube channel so take a look to find out more about the latest LOL Pearl Surprise, Exogini toys and FurReal Shaggy Shawn.

Yesterday my wonderful son turned 8. He’s been so excited about his birthday and we had a lovely quiet day, just going out for lunch. He really wanted the Lego Minecraft set The Fortress which was discontinued but I was able to find it, and he spent all day building and playing with it. His party is next weekend so I will be busy planning that this week.

Hope you have a lovely week!
