Updating a girls bedroom

Updating a girls bedroom

Posted on January 4, 2018August 30, 2022 by jenny

Over the past few weeks I have been buying a few pieces for my daughter’s bedroom. She recently turned 6 and declared she hated pink. Unfortunately for her, we painted her room pink a few years ago.

I love decorating so was happy to change her room around. I think she has one of the nicest bedrooms in our house. It is a long room, overlooking the garden and has the most awesome storage cupboard which holds a lot of toys. Last year we bought a lot of new white furniture to make it a nice place to hang out. As well as her bed she has a lovely shelf unit where she stores her favourite cuddly toys, a desk, bookshelf and wardrobe. Everything is white which means the walls could pretty much be any colour.

Photwall.com recently got in touch asking if I would like to collaborate with them. They are a Swedish brand who produce modern wall murals and canvas prints. I immediately thought this was a great opportunity to have something amazing for my daughter’s room. I looked through the wall murals and was blown away with the possibilities as they have over 3000 motifs from 70 designers!

I knew I wanted something simple and produced a short list which I showed my daughter. We agreed on the adorable Tiny Cabin design which features trees and cabins! It’s a simple print but I knew my daughter would love looking at it whilst she falls asleep.

The design is also grown up enough that it’s not something she will outgrow any time soon. the website shows you a close up as well as a few different views so you get a really good sense of how the pattern will look.

The brilliant thing about Photowall.com is that you can enter the dimensions you need to ensure you get the right amount of wallpaper. One of the walls in my daughter’s room slopes but I was really relieved to know that we’ve ordered the right amount.

My husband is going to take a day off work so we can hang the wall mural whilst she’s at school and paint the other walls white. There’s nothing worse than decorating when your children are around! I can’t wait to see how her room looks when it’s finished but I know she’s going to love it. Make sure you are following me on Instagram where I’m going to post updates of our progress.

Photowall.com have kindly offered my readers a 20% discount on any of their products using the code thegingerbreadhousecampaign2017. This expires on 31st January 2018.

Disclosure – photowall.com sent us the wall mural for the purpose of this review.

That wallpaper is epic. It has a really lovely Scandi vibe to it which is what we go for when decorating the home. My girls would love this in their room 🙂

Oh I love it and that wallpaper is awesome. I hope she loves the mural. My little one loved the colour green until last week, now it is his most hated colour. LOL

This sounds like a great idea to redecorate a room or update it with a more grown up look. I am sure your daughter will love her finished room.
