Updating a boy’s bedroom

I think know my husband thinks I’m a little crazy but I’ve started planning our next round of DIYs. We’ve been in our current house for nearly 5 years and have decorated the whole house, except for his office, and installed a new kitchen.

It’s funny how tired you can get of a colour though and I would love to start re-decorating the bedrooms. When we moved in one room was blue and the other was pink. It seemed natural that my son took the blue room and my daughter the pink one. We actually re-painted the walls in blue and pink but the children have grown out of these colours and I would love to update them.

I’ve seen some great boys’ wallpaper from wallsauce.com online. I think wallpaper is a lovely way to update a room, from having a fun feature wall to covering all four walls. My son is the biggest Lego fan so I have been thinking about changing the plain blue walls to something a little colourful, with a mural wallpaper on one wall. I found a stunning Lego effect wall mural in lovely, bright primary colours which would be perfect for him.

This would go really well with the rest of his room as we made him some fun Lego storage using a Ikea Trofast storage unit and he has some pretty cool Lego bedding too.

I’ve secretly been buying a few pieces for my daughter’s bedroom. She actually hates pink so I want to change her walls to white to complement her white furniture. I’ve bought some new prints for her walls, a monochrome pom pom garland and a gorgeous rabbit rug (as she loves Miffy). I can’t wait for everything to arrive! It’s been a while since we sorted out their rooms so I’m looking forward to updating their bedrooms now they are a little older.

OOh the lego theme sounds amazing, my twin nephews have just discovered how amazing lego is, so this excites me. I also secretly want to see the pom pom garland you have for your daughter! x
