I started giving my daughter Ready Brek when she was about 6 months old. It was one of the first tastes she ever experienced and she still has it for breakfast now she’s nearly 6! Sometimes she dabbles with other cereals with eye-catching packaging, but she always goes back to her old favourite.
Ready Brek is a breakfast must-have in many households, and everybody has their favourite type – original, chocolate, honey or seriously oatey. Ready Brek is a great way to start the day in a healthy way and provides a nutritional morning meal for the whole family. It’s so easy to make (which is why I love it!) and gives long lasting energy for children who have a busy day at school before them.
My 5 year old doesn’t want to get out of bed in the morning. She’s always the last to get up but fortunately she’s never wanted to skip breakfast. I’ve prepared her Ready Brek for so long I can do it with my eyes shut, and the fact that it’s so quick and easy means that her breakfast can be put on the table in under a minute. It’s also a great way to ensure she has a healthy amount of milk.
Over the years I’ve tried to make her breakfast a little more interesting. We’ve tried all the different Ready Brek varieties but she prefers the original one. There are loads of ways you can create your own unique breakfast recipe. We’ve tried a swirl of jam, a handful of raisins, and even a sprinkle of cinnamon. She just loves it as it is.
Ready Brek is available from all good supermarkets and food stores from £2, perfect for ages 6 months and over.

September 28, 2017 at 10:43 amThey both seemed to have really liked it! I grew up in Germany and we didn’t have that brand there – but who doesn’t love porridge for breakfast anyway?

September 28, 2017 at 1:19 pmAwwww. How wonderful and healthy. Most kids would go for the sugary-ist cereal around I think!! I had Ready Break at the weekend when I stayed at my sisters house (usually I prefer proper rolled oats), and it was surprisingly nice.

September 29, 2017 at 9:44 amWe gave our children Ready Break when they were really little and for some reason we stopped. I really want my ten year old to have more milk so this could be perfect, I’m going to get some this weekend, thank you for the reminder.

September 29, 2017 at 8:21 pmAh I loved Ready Brek growing up, I haven’t had it for years though. It is a great, healthy start to the day and must fill them up too. I’m going to have to get some now I’ve read this.
