Monday happy things {Week 152}

SUMMER HOLIDAYS WEEK 5

I love a sunny Bank Holiday weekend! I hope the sun is shining wherever you are. It’s time for my weekly Monday happy things post, today is {Week 152}.

The start of the week was lovely and peaceful at home. We enjoyed being at home, the kids played with their toys whilst I caught up on washing and cleaning. The children have been taking part in the Summer Reading Challenge so we made sure we fitted in a trip to the library, I can’t believe our next visit will be our last.

On Thursday we headed off to Bristol. We stayed at the Bristol Marriot Royal Hotel and did a little bit of sightseeing as well as dinner with friends. You can check out my post on 24 hours in Bristol with kids.

On Friday we carried on to Devon for a few days. The weather was amazing and the kids loved playing on the beach and spending their holiday money in the arcade. The weather has been amazingly nice which we were completely unprepared for. I had packed raincoats when we needed sunhats and suntan lotion! Thankfully I was the only one to get sunburned.

I found Liquorice Allsorts rock and nougat so I was heaven! I’m not looking forward to Slimming World this week 🙂

We’ve been staying at the Exeter Mercure which we’ve stayed in a few times now. It’s a lovely location as we can walk into Exeter. I love shopping there and managed to find the latest copy of Project Calm magazine. It’s been the perfect reading material for the beach.

As you read this we will be heading home and hoping to miss some of the Bank Holiday carnage that is forecast on the motorways. Wish us luck!
