Mixit Magazine for girls review

Mixit magazine {a new magazine for girls}

Posted on July 19, 2017 by jenny

I’m not normally a huge fan of anything which is produced just for girls or just for boys. However, despite my 5 year old insisting she hates the colour pink, it doesn’t seem to stop her being drawn to the colour, wearing the colour, or loving anything pink! I guess she’s a little contrary but also a typical little 5 year old.

We were recently sent the first two issues of a new magazine for girls, called Mixit. This is a brand new and totally unique multi-character magazine for girls aged 4-9 and I couldn’t wait to see what she thought of it.

Take a look at the little video we made:

What is Mixit magazine?

Mixit magazine features all the hottest new brands such as Shopkins, DC Superhero Girls, Lego Friends and other much loved classics such as Little Miss. When we first looked through it I was surprised at how many of the characters my daughter recognised. It’s a very interactive and fun-packed magazine, and includes stories, quizzes, cartoons, things to make, bake and do, as well as collectable posters, games and more! Each issue comes with a FREE branded cover gift and branded stickers, like other magazines aimed at this age group.

What did we think of Mixit magazine?

My 5 year old really enjoyed the magazine. She’s pretty predictable in tearing off the cover gift and then taking a few days to go through a magazine. She takes them to her room and will do the puzzles in bed, asking for help with the words when she can’t figure it all out.

Mixit is a toy and digital-led girls’ magazine, with a strong focus on collectables and ‘unboxing’. This is right up my daughter’s street as she loves YouTube and collectable toys. It exclusively features key influencers and box-openers from the vlogging community, Emily Tube and Creative Celeste which she also liked.

I can definitely see us picking up this magazine again. There’s a great mix of activities, crafts and competitions and I think it’s great value.

Where can I buy Mixit magazine?

Mixit magazine is priced at £3.65 which compares well to other magazines. Each issue comes with a cover gift and branded stickers and is available at your local newsagent or you can order online.

    This sounds great! When my little princess is a bit older, it would be perfect for her!

    This sounds like a great magazine! Especially for the price, most magazines tend to be £4-£5 nowadays! Love the sound of this though, and my little girlie would definitely love it when she gets a bit older!

    Oh well! This magazine definitely has to be a favourite of my niece because it has all these kind of things such as Shopkins. I didn’t even know about it until I saw my niece buying a Shopkins pack from the store.

    What a great magazine – interesting that it features old school characters mixed with up to date influencers and vloggers!

    Thanks for sharing!
