Building brick blockbusters together

building Lego together

My children love toys. The ages 5 and 7 seem to be the perfect age and I love watching them play with their toys. With the Summer holidays looming Tesco Direct kindly sent us some of the latest Lego products to review at home and get us inspired for some of this Summer’s blockbuster films.

Lego are a favourite product in our house and I can’t believe how lucky the children were to receive Beware the Vulture (from Lego Super Heroes set 76083), Thunder Hollow Crazy 8 Race (Lego Junior Cars 3 set 10744), and Harley Quinn Dorm (from Lego DC Super Hero Girls set 41236.

Lego is perfect for my children. They can easily follow the instructions and the build comes together quite quickly. The children chose to open and build everything together and it was lovely watching them take turns to read, helping each other find the right piece and then playing with the finished sets.

They decided to open the Thunder Hollow Crazy 8 Race set first. They’ve always enjoyed Disney Cars and we’re looking forward to seeing the new film when it’s released next month. This set came with 4 vehicles and some extra pieces to re-create your own race.

Next they opened Harley Quinn Dorm. This is from the Lego DC Super Hero Girls which we’ve not seen before. Thankfully we have seen The Lego Batman Movie so my children knew a little about Harley Quinn. This set is fun with lots of bright stickers and graffiti. Harley Quinn has a trampoline-shaped bed, sofa that turns into a make-up area and a Strong Man game with hammer and moving slider. She even has some cute accessories including a mobile phone camera, lipstick, hairbrush and popcorn tub.

The final set to build was Beware the Vulture which ties in with the new Spider-Man: Homecoming film which is out next month. We have a few Lego Super Heroes sets so this is a really fun addition to our collection. It includes four minifigs – The Shocker, Vulture, Iron Man and Spiderman.

Disclosure – Tesco Direct sent us these products for the purpose of this post

Lego is such a good thing to capture all ages, I’m not afraid to admit that I still create lego items. Looks like you guys had fun building together x

My older boys (6 and 4) love legos. They would love the Cars and Batma legos. My 6 year old loves collecting legos from movies. He has some Star Wars legos. Have a fun summer with lots of lego building!

This is such a cute post. My brother and I used to play with lego together when we were little as well. I’m sure your kids will have good memories of this when they’re older.
