EARTH DAY HAND PRINT CRAFT FOR KIDS

Earth Day hand print craft

Posted on April 18, 2017April 18, 2017 by jenny

Every year on April 22 people across the globe celebrate Earth Day. Earth Day is an annual event marked across the world to show support for environmental protection. The aim is to encourage people to do things that will benefit the Earth, such as recycling more, using solar power or plant trees.

The first Earth Day took place in 1970 and now it is celebrated in 192 countries across the world by around one billion people.

To celebrate Earth Day we thought we would make an Earth Day hand print craft. It was one of those lovely after school crafts which we love to do.

For our Earth Day hand print craft we used:
piece of A4 blue card
green paint
paint brush

We placed a round plate onto our card and carefully drew around it with a pencil to create our earth.

Then my 5 year old painted her hand green using a sponge.

When her whole hand was covered she carefully placed it in the centre of her circle to create land.

To add more land she used the side of the sponge dipped in green paint.

We left it to dry before cutting out our planet. This was a great craft activity to talk about the importance of Earth Day.

A great activity of the kids. At least the paint comes off easily enough. Looks the kids had tonnes of fun too.
