Monday happy things {week 129}

Posted on March 20, 2017 by jenny

Happy Monday everyone and I hope you all had a great weekend. As I sat thinking about what to put in this weekly post I realised my calendar was pretty normal (and busy) for last week. I volunteered for a few hours at my children’s school, ferried my children around to their after-school clubs and seem to have written a lot of blog posts. No wonder last week didn’t feel particularly relaxing!

Time for my weekly Monday happy things post – Week 129 already.

Last week I won my 1/2 stone award at Slimming World! I’m terrible at dieting but Slimming World always works really well for me, if I stick with it. My sister is following it too and it really helps to have someone to share recipe ideas with. I have a challenging few days with my son’s birthday, my birthday, a meal out with friends and Mother’s Day but I’ll still be hoping for a loss at my next weigh in.

My daughter officially joined Rainbows last week. This meant she is no longer a Raindrop but a Rainbow and was awarded her official metal badge. She was really happy, especially as it meant I stayed for the session along with her big brother. I love seeing her with her friends and she always has loads of fun there.

My son turned 7 and had some amazing presents. He didn’t want anything one thing this year, so instead was showered with Lego sets, Minecraft toys, Angry Birds, Minions as well as his new obsession, emoji! He was very lucky and enjoyed opening everything he received. He pretty much spent the day building his new Lego sets before his friends arrived for a party. The party consisted of them playing Lego Worlds and kicking a football around the garden. He had a great time and it was lovely to see him so happy.

Blog-wise I had a busy week which I found stressful at times. I had a lot of deadlines but also produced some fun posts, reviewing some cool toys with my children. Don’t forget to enter my Mother’s Day competition in association with Mr Men and Egmont where you can win a bundle of Mr Men books.

We spent the weekend putting up new pictures in our living room. We are terrible at changing our photos but finally put up our children’s school photos, even though one of them was 4 years old!  We also took down my quilt wall and put up the new Pez display case we made. Pop over and read my post – it was a really fun make and should be a brilliant talking point at dinner parties!

Have a great week everyone.

    Sounds like a pretty good week although definitely busy! Good to hear your son enjoyed his birthday, and your little girl looks so proud of her rainbows badge! 🙂
