Sands Alive Cake Shop review

Sands Alive Cake Shop review

Posted on February 24, 2017 by jenny

This afternoon my son had a school friend round for a playdate. They love to play Minecraft together which leaves my daughter with no-one to play with. Luckily we were sent the new Sands Alive Cake Shop from John Adams to review. My daughter loves playdough so I knew she would have fun with this modelling sand, plus it would help her fine motor skills – I do love a toy with added benefits!

Sands Alive Cake Shop

The Sands Alive Cake Shop from John Adams is a new toy from the Sands Alive range. Featuring super-soft, non-toxic sand that sticks together well, the range is perfect for making detailed models. With the Cake Shop set, kids can use the moulds to create cool cake shapes with the pink and white sand.

The set contains a tray, pink and white sand, two rolling pins and some plastic cake-themed moulds. My daughter opened up the bags of sand and was happy to play with it. It’s very soft and easy to play with. She made lots of cakes and the little rolling pins helped add colourful details to her cakes.

Sands Alive Cake Shop review

It’s a fun set and a good size, easy to store and quick to set up for after school play. I like the fact the sand is non-toxic and felt completely happy letting her play with it. The sand has some magic properties in that it doesn’t ever dry out. When my daughter had finished playing I placed the sand in an air-tight bag just to keep it safe.

The Sands Alive Cake Shop is exclusive to Argos and priced £19.99.

That looks like so much fun. I just want to try touching the sand – amazing how it sticks together like that. I want one!!
