9 New Year’s Eve Party Ideas For Kids

9 New Year’s Eve Party Ideas For Kids

Posted on December 31, 2016 by jenny

After the success of our Christmas Eve box I wanted to repeat the idea with a New Year’s Eve box! The children know that we are coming to the end of 2016. It’s been a long time since I went out on New Year’s Eve but there’s no reason not to celebrate at home with the children and make some special family memories.

This year I’ll be recycling our Christmas Eve box but I’m going to try and buy another if my husband lets me visit Ikea anytime soon!

My children love to party so I’ve come up with 9 New Year’s Eve Party Ideas For Kids that I can fit into our New Year’s Eve box and ensure we have a great time this evening.

9 New Year’s Eve Party Ideas For Kids

Confetti poppers (shop-bought as I haven’t had time to make any this year)

New Year’s Eve mocktails to toast the New Year – we may be having these at 8pm as I can’t imagine my little 5 and 6 year old staying up much later!

Make glittery party crowns to wear at dinner and during the evening

Photo booth props for some silly family photos

A new board game

Hot chocolate cones as these went down really well on Christmas Eve

A New Year’s countdown clock

Empty jar to start our 2017 New Year’s Time Capsule. This is something I’ve wanted to do for a while. When we renovated our kitchen I took down our family notice board which was full of ticket stubs, VIP passes from blog events and school photos. This gave me the idea of getting a big jar and putting them in throughout the year. I can’t wait to see our Time Capsule jar at the end of 2017.

I also came across this fun printable New Year’s Resolutions for Kids from Thirty Handmade Days. I love the idea of re-visiting this every year as you watch your kid grow.

You can find lots more ideas on my New Year Crafts for Kids Pinterest board. However you celebrate I wish you a very Happy New Year!

A board game sounds like a good idea. I recommend the Great Game of Britain, its a fun railway themed game. hope you have a wonderful 2017.
