Christmas days out Monday Happy List

Monday Happy List – Week 115

This time of year is so busy. As if school and after school clubs weren’t enough, we are trying to squeeze in extra festive activities whilst keeping winter germs at bay. After a busy weekend visiting my mum in Wiltshire I am so happy to be sitting at home catching up on my blog, the children safely at school. This week I will be finishing off costumes for their nativity plays and buying lots of Christmas presents – am I the only one who hasn’t started yet?

Most weeks I find it so easy to write this Monday Happy List post. There’s usually too many things to mention and last week was another of those weeks. I love thinking back over the previous 7 days and writing down my highlights.

On Monday my daughter turned 5. She had her birthday party the previous weekend and her birthday was a little quieter with lots of presents – mainly new clothes, Trolls puzzles, books, Lego and Sylvanian Families sets.

I had a job interview, and didn’t get it (again). Getting back to work is so much harder than I envisaged, but I am trying to be positive about it. I got some great feedback so I just need to pick myself up and try again.

My husband and I enjoyed a grown up day out in the West End whilst the children were at school last week. We wanted to visit the new Lego Store in Leicester Square and have lunch out at Five Guys. We also popped to my favourite shops – Kikki K, Cath Kidston and Orla Kiely!

We celebrated Advent with our Elf on the Shelf bringing Advent Calendars and our Book Advent. We try not to think about Christmas until my daughter has celebrated her birthday, so the 1st December means we can really start to get excited about it! The children were very excited to receive their Advent calendars and so far I have managed to hide our Elf in a different place every day.

We spent the weekend at my mum’s. Her little town was having a Christmas Street Fayre which we all enjoyed. There was a tree festival in the Church which my 5 year old was just too excited about! We also took the opportunity of a babysitter to go and watch Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them which was amazing. I was so happy to finally see it.

Have a great week everyone!
