Brainboost Box activity box for kids

Brainboost Box activity box for kids

Posted on November 10, 2016May 24, 2018 by jenny

Over the last few weeks the children have been reviewing a Brainboost Box, this is a monthly educational activity box for kids.

Brainboost know successful children aren’t just good at Maths and English, they are also Emotionally Intelligent, Creative thinkers, and great Communicators. Brainboost Boxes develop these core skills and more with fun new activities each month delivered to your door, along with all the resources you need to play. Created by Dr Maryhan Baker, every box is full of hand picked activities, tailored to your child’s age and stage of development.

The children love receiving mail so were delighted when the Postman handed them a box with their names on. Inside were 5 activities and a book. The children looked through each activity and chose the ones which were most appealing to them.

My 4 year chose the Heart Puzzle. The activity pack contained a heart puzzle and colouring pencils, as well as a guide to the skills developed and instructions on how to play. I love activities I can do with the children and my daughter enjoyed this. We talked about hearts and feelings and it was a good activity to talk about emotions whilst her hands were busy colouring. We used some of the suggestions to make the puzzle a little harder, with colour clues to help her put it back together again.

Some of the other activities were Number Cards, Rope Threading, a Measurement Game, Rocket Balloon and Skipping. Both children enjoyed the measuring activity and this is something we have returned to as they love to estimate the height of objects around the home and then measure them to see if they were right.

We definitely enjoyed this box and had fun trying out the different activities. The instructions were clear and it was nice having something to do together after school.

There are currently two different boxes to choose from – the Lite or Rocket Boost Box depending on the number of  activities you want each month. More information about the different options is available on their website.

I love the idea of monthly activity boxes for kids. What I particularly like about this one is the ’emotional’ development side that you mention. School is so focused on teaching kids the core subjects that emotional development sometimes goes missing. Great box! Tx

I absolutely love the idea around this creative and educational kids box – perfect for rainy days and encouraging learning at home
