Monday Happy List – Week 108

Happy Monday everyone, hope you had a lovely weekend. We’ve had such a busy week with lots of things to do, especially after school. Both kids got smart new haircuts, we had a good after school karate lesson and were invited to our local Pizza Express to make spooky pizzas for Halloween. It certainly meant the week flew by.

Unfortunately I have two poorly children at home with me today. My son has earache and my daughter has flu. She’s slowly getting better. Ironically she’s booked in for the flu nasal spray on Tuesday. If only she’d had it earlier she may not have been quite so poorly. I’m so grateful these things exist though as it’s awful watching your child suffer with any illness.

The children have been asking for weeks but on Thursday we finally got the box of Halloween decorations out of the loft. They were so happy to see all their favourite decorations and immediately started decorating. They’ve made a lovely display around the fireplace and hung up some of their homemade decorations. I’m hoping we can find a Halloween event to go to as Little Sis really wants to wear her spider outfit (even though she outgrew it about 2 years ago!).

I wrote about my son and his new-found love of reading. He has been working his way through the Jedi Academy series. This week the 4th book arrived as well as a Journal type book. He’s been taking his books everywhere, even choosing to read them rather than watch tv. I’m so proud of him, although slightly worried about what will happen when he finishes the last book. I’ve mentioned that we should find some other author or series of books he might like but he’s insisting on only Star Wars books at the moment.

We visited KidZania to see it decorated for Halloween. This visit my son took part in hte Pit Lane experience which he loved (see pic above). I will be sharing a post about our visit soon and offering a family ticket for one lucky family so don’t forget to subscribe to my blog or follow one of my social channels if you would like to hear about this.

It was a 4 day week for us as the children have an Inset Day on Friday but with them off sick it’s now a 3 day week. I’m so looking forward to having them all to myself for a week as we have lots of adventures planned. Have a great week everyone!

The Pizza Express event sounds like lots of fun, especially for the kids!

Ooh I have never seen those Star Wars book before. Instead of a child obsessed with Star Wars, my mother is the one who is a big fan. May need to hunt these books out now!
