My Little Pony Friendship is Magic toy review

My Little Pony Friendship is Magic

When I was little my toy of choice was the My Little Pony range. Over a couple of years I built up a great collection of ponies, accessories and playsets. I played with them a lot but every evening they went back in their boxes, safely tucked away for another day. Unfortunately they were given to my nieces when I left home so I wasn’t able to pass them on to my own daughter.

I’m sure you’ve noticed that My Little Pony have had a pretty large makeover in the intervening years so I doubt my daughter would recognise my favourite toys. Fortunately for her she was sent some of the My Little Pony Friendship is Magic range to review.

The toys are on a smaller scale than my day which suits my daughter. All her favourite toys are small, perfect for small world play which she absolutely loves. She already had quite a few of the My Little Pony blind bags as she can buy them with her weekly pocket money.

She received a My Little Pony blind bag (£1.99), a story pack (£4.99) and a scene pack (£9.99).

These were quickly opened with a little help for me. She was squealing with delight as she opened everything, I had one happy little lady! The blind bag contained a pony and a collector’s card which are great value. The Mrs Dazzle Cakepack contained Mrs Dazzle Cake, counter with cakes, tray with cupcakes and large cake for lots of Sugarcube Corner fun. There was also a scene pack, the Ice Cream Stand. This MLP playset included Twilight Sparkle, a stand and two ice cream sundaes. I think that all three items stand alone but complement each other too. My daughter has been having lots of fun recreating Equestria at home.

My Little Pony Friendship is Magic Sugarcube Corner

Our final item was the My Little Pony Friendship is Magic Sugarcube Corner (£19.99). This is the ultimate playset for any MLP fan, Sugarcube Corner comes with a Pinkie Pie pony figure, a Cheese Sandwich pony figure, and fun accessories for a super pony party!

This was the trickiest toy to get out of its packaging but it was worth the wait. It consisted of the amazing Sugarcube Sweet Shoppe, decorated with its cupcake tower and icing coated roof and sweets. Some of the accessories are a little strange, such as the chicken but they make for a fun place to buy some yummy cakes or host a super pony party.

I love the fact my children can have fun with the MLP range. The toys are small but detailed. They love learning about the different characters and their traits and I like the fact they can use their pocket money to buy more ponies.
