Unless you’re the savviest shopper out there, you might be spending more money than you have to on your weekly food bill. Personally, when it comes to feeding our family, we shop in a way that helps give us the tastiest, most varied and most nutritional diet without breaking the bank. But like anyone else, we’re susceptible to the offers designed to fill up our basket with stuff we don’t need! For that reason, it’s been really interesting to learn about the results of a survey conducted Money Advice Service. Did you know, for example, that 59% of people say that they buy more when they go shopping on an empty stomach? In fact, the average ‘rumbling-belly’ shopper spends £10.87 extra than someone who’s had a snack beforehand!
Those figures got us thinking… over the course of a month, we could plan to use that surplus stash of cash on something for the kids, or a romantic date night for the grown ups! So what do you think of the Money Advice Service’s findings? Take a look below: what stands out for you? Are there any tips you’re going to use next time you’re in the supermarket aisle?
