Take and Play Roaring Dino Run

Posted on October 19, 2014September 2, 2018 by jenny

Over the summer you may remember we went to see the new Thomas and Friends film, Tale of the Brave. My 4 year old has always loved Thomas and when he was younger never went anywhere without his wooden Thomas and Gordon – it was a sad day when he grew out of that particular habit.

Both my children enjoyed Tale of the Brave so were happy to be sent the new Fisher-Price Thomas and Friends Take-n-Play Roaring Dino Run Playset, which was inspired by the new Thomas and Friends DVD Tale of the Brave, to review.

Take and Play Roaring Dino Run

My 4 year old loves reviewing toys, he has a bit of a YouTube obsession so is always keen to give me his opinion.

This Thomas and Friends Playset is great value, it’s actually two playsets in one. The official blurb is as follows:

Thomas the Tank Engine is exploring the clay pits in search of dinosaur fossil bones for the Sodor Museum exhibit! As you unfold the Thomas Take ‘n’ Play Roaring Dino Run Playset, the bridge drops and the mountain track tumbles to the ground! Send Thomas over the bridge, then lift it up to reveal the giant dinosaur fossil in the mountainside and hear the dino ROAR!

Roaring Dino RunAs Thomas escapes three bone fossils slide down the mountain face. Load the bones into Thomas’ cargo car, then turn the set around to deliver them to the museum! Plug the bones onto the dinosaur wall and the Megalosaurus exhibit is complete!

Take n Play playsetLittle Sis doesn’t get much of a look in but she plays with the set when her brother is at school.

This is a fun toy with some great features:

The set comes with Thomas and one carriage
It folds up really easily so can be taken anywhere
Great for imaginative play
It connects with other Thomas Take-n-Play Portable Fold-Out Playsets
Magnets let you attach other engines or tenders to Thomas
There are sound effects!
Helps develop gross motor skills, sensory skills and reasoning skills

This play set stands alone really well but is also a fun tie-in with the latest film, Tale of the Brave. I think it’s quite large, and you can see from one of the photos above that my son likes to play with over the edge of the table for extra drama!

This looks great, it’s the sort of thing me and my brother would have loved when we were younger.
