My 3 year old loves Tinkerbell and we’re really excited about the release of Tinkerbell and the NeverBeast on DVD on Monday 20th. It’s a long time since we saw it at the cinema and we’re looking forward to taking part in a home viewing party to celebrate its release.
Both my children love playing with play dough so I thought we should make some Tinkerbell inspired play dough. I used my never fail recipe with a little sprinkle of pixie dust.
Tinkerbell play dough recipe:
150g plain flour
100g salt
2 tsp. cream of tartar
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
180ml water
To this basic play dough recipe I added a packet of the flavoured drink mix powder Kool Aid in lemon and lime and a generous sprinkling of silver glitter. This gave it the perfect Tinkerbell colour and it smelt great too!
When it was all mixed together I set up an invitation to play with the Tinkerbell play dough and a tray of tinker tools which included white pom poms, shells, beads and craft sticks.
My 3 year old grabbed her Tinkerbell figurines too and had loads of fun. She wrapped Tink and her friends in play dough, let Gruff make monster footprints in it and generally had a sensory overload with the smell and feel of our homemade Tinkerbell play dough.
We made some adorable Tinkerbell cupcakes!
We had fun! Best of all this play dough ages well if kept in an air tight bag which means we can play with it again and again.
We also love making our own play dough. It’s so much better than the shop bought stuff. My kids often make cupcakes and biscuits out of play dough too. I love how you did the tinkerbell theme, perfecr for little girls 🙂

It’s so easy to make your own playdough isn’t it? This is a great idea – might try it with blue to make a Frozen Elsa doll. At least this way you know what dyes / colours are being used.
