Scary robot tshirt

Posted on October 31, 2011July 19, 2025 by jenny

I’ve mentioned before how much I love Pinterest and find it really inspiring, and pinned quite a few fun Halloween projects. I loved making (and eating) Halloween cake pops and wanted my son to have his own spooky tshirt to wear at our Halloween party.

I saw a fab design for shadow puppets in the latest issue of Handmade Living by minieco.co.uk. I thought that my son was too young for shadow puppets but the patterns would translate really well onto a tshirt. So I picked up some cheap tshirts from H&M and copied the scary robot template on to iron-on transfer paper (for use with an inkjet printer) for dark coloured fabrics. Then I simply cut out the robot from the sheet, removed the backing paper and ironed the transfer onto the tshirt.

I love the look of the retro robot, it reminds me of old black and white films – I think it looks great on my own little monster!

Linking up with handmade monday, just something I whipped up, creative me monday and making the world cuter

He looks totally handsome in his t-shirt. I know what you mean about Pinterest… I could spend so much time just mooching about on there!

I am just beginning to get into Pinterest and could spend hours on there looking at the lovely things. Your t-shirt is great – he does look smart.

Great t-shirt. I think I may try a Christmassy one for my son so he can have a personalised t-shirt.

Edward looks gorgeous in his new T-shirt. I’m also a Pinterest addict. It’s actually fab for inspiration as you see so much at once.

Bet he was chuffed, looks like you did a great job, so nice to be able to choose a design that you want rather than just whats available in the shops.

Pinterest is the most amazing time consumer and I love it! I just have to ration myself. Your little lad looks so cute in that T shirt…

Great t-shirt – so effective. I’ve seen the transfer papers in shops but never tried them – perhaps I’ll have to have a go after seeing this!

I’ve so far avoided Pinterest, otherwise I would never be off the computer! (Its bad enough as it is!!)
