We booked our Olympic tickets when I was pregnant knowing we would be taking a toddler and a baby to the Olympics. We heard lots of conflicting reports that babies wouldn’t be allowed, prams would be prohibited, and as we didn’t want to carry the baby in a sling we’ve now arranged for her to be looked after by nanny. Over the last few days we found out you can take a pram and there will be a pram park, and we can also take some food for the toddler. I hope there are baby changing facilities too. I really…

I’m quite pleased we seem to be surviving the school holidays <touch wood>. The weather hasn’t been too bad and we’ve had lots to do. We had a great Day out with Thomas, the Christening, trip to Legoland and I’m trying to keep the toddler busy with some structured activities and lots of free time to play. As well as our usual baking, crafts and trips to the local park, he’s spent hours playing with trains, Lego, the sand pit and water table. We’ve signed up to some music classes which start next week. It’s an activity which both children…

We had an amazing weekend. On Saturday we met up with friends and took the toddler to meet Thomas the Tank Engine, Mavis and those Troublesome Trucks at our favourite heritage railway. He had a brilliant time and only wanted to see Thomas, wasn’t fussed about any of the other activities going on! It was really lovely to see him so happy and great to spend some time with friends. On Sunday we had both children christened in the church we got married in. They were well behaved and it was a great opportunity to get all our family and…

I’m not planning on staying at home during the Olympics. School’s out for the summer and my toddler will want our normal adventures in London. Without a doubt our adventures will have an Olympic theme. We’ve already seen the Olympic rings at St Pancras and on Saturday we saw the Olympic clock in Trafalgar Square. We’ve also checked out Olympic decorations in other parts of town to make sure the ones in our borough are meant to look quite so lacklustre. We’ve scored some free tickets to see what the Dutch are doing as they take over Ally Pally, temporarily…

Last week we were invited to Kentish Town City Farm to meet Paul Lindley who founded Ella’s Kitchen. He’s a lovely man and remembered we had previously met at an event at the ELC last year. Ella’s Kitchen always seem to be bringing out tasty new treats for our little ones and their latest is a new dairy range. We met at Kentish Town City Farm and I was a little nervous about going there as the toddler shows little interest in animals. He can name them all and is happy watching them on cBeebies, he’s just not so interested…

The Olympics are such a big event that I really want to make sure we experience as much as we can living in London. Yes, we have tickets for some events, if the tickets ever turn up, but there are plenty of other things we can do too. Today we ventured into London to spend some time at one of our favourite playgrounds – Coram’s Fields. It’s only a short walk from Kings Cross so it’s perfect little day trip if we want to leave Zone 3 for a couple of hours. Whilst we were out we went train spotting…

Today we all ventured into the West End for a very special event at Hamleys. Hornby, the classic British toy brand and Official London 2012 product supplier, have produced a huge range of London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games souvenir products which we were to see. Olympic memorabilia for big kids The train-mad husband and Big Brother loved seeing and playing with the Olympic Train Set and Scalextric Velodrome. Little Sis and I had a good look at the British Classic Vehicles, Destination London 2012 Taxi Collection, mascot key rings, figurines and racers. As well as looking at the collection…

Last week the toddler and I were invited to a VIP performance of The Go!Go!Go! Show at The Empire Leicester Square with celebrities including Sara Cox with her baby Renee, Chloe Simms with daughter Madison, Michelle Heaton with her baby Faith, Javine Hylton with daughter Angel and both Nicola McLean and Danielle Brown with their families. It’s not often we get to spend any time together without Little Sis so we were both excited by the prospect of a trip on the tube, a show in the West End and the chance to mingle with some celebs. The Go!Go!Go! Show…

Today we had a really special invitation to join Alvin and the Chipmunks aboard a fun-packed party cruise to celebrate the launch of the DVD and Triple Play Blu-ray release of Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked. Big Brother is a huge fan of Alvin and the Chipmunks and was thrilled to meet them. As we cruised along the Thames as well as spotting all our favourite London landmarks we also got a chance to meet Alvin and the Chipmunks, play lots of party games, go on a treasure hunt, and watch the new film whilst munching popcorn! We had loads…
