My son loves cats so, for a summer holiday treat, I booked a visit to Java Whiskers Cat Lounge in London. Java Whiskers is a Cat Cafe in London’s Marylebone and is a fun place to stop off for an hour. We’ve been to a few Cat Cafes including London’s first cat cafe, Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium, back in 2018. They are always fun to visit and we were excited to explore somewhere new, and meet lots of cats of course.
Java Whiskers Cat Lounge Marylebone
Java Whiskers Cat Lounge has two branches in London, the original one in Marylebone, and one in Westfield White City. We opted for the Marylebone Cat Cafe as we had planned a day in London. I booked our slot online and we turned up just before our time slot.
Java Whiskers have a Cat Lounge as well as a Kitten Room. We paid for the Cat Lounge only which consisted of two rooms where the cats could roam free. After a brief introduction we were taken through to the lounge.
There was lots of rooms for the cats, as well as tables and chairs for the humans to sit at. We had ordered some drinks and they were brought through to us.
The children loved watching the cats. Most of them were asleep but some of them wandered through the rooms, playing with toys or happy to be brushed.
They were a sweet group of cats and seemed to enjoy different spots around the room. You were able to pet and stroke them but you couldn’t pick up the ones which were asleep or sitting up in their special walkways around the room.
They were also available for adoption! Java Whiskers have helped hundreds of cats find their forever friends since they opened. My son would happily have adopted one of the cats, but I think our dog would have something to say.
Our visit went really quickly and we left happy that we had done something a little different in London.
