As someone who loves the changing seasons it feels like we have experienced two great events last week, starting with Halloween and ending with Bonfire Night. My kids go crazy for Halloween and were so excited to decorate the house and get themselves dressed up. We have lovely neighbours who we popped round to visit and received a handful of visitors ourselves. We’re probably the only household who still has their pumpkins outside but we had 4 and that’s a lot of pumpkin to dispose of. We ended the week with two Firework displays, one local and another near my…

A while ago I was looking through Etsy for something. I have forgotten what exactly as I so often follow links and discover the most amazing handmade items. On one such session I discovered Letterbox Kits and treated myself to the gingerbread house accessories kit. This cute little box landed on my doorstep. I opened it up to discover all these wonderful little things. Here’s a close up, aren’t those decorations adorable! I finally found some time to make them so sat down and looked through everything. I added white polymer clay to the roof of a gingerbread house for snow…

You probably don’t need me to tell you I love all things gingerbread. Around this time of year there are some lovely products in the shops so today I thought I would tell you about some of my favourite products. Over the last couple of months I’ve been buying some fun gingerbread products, ranging from baking kits, crafts for the children and even a special limited edition Lego Gingerbread House. Baking kits I start thinking about baking gingerbread as soon as the leaves start to fall from the trees. This year we’ve been busy baking and decorating and enjoyed trying…

A few weeks ago I received an email from the Lego store with a new promotion where you received a free Lego Gingerbread House set if your order was over a certain amount. Luckily my son had asked for a few Lego Minecraft kits for Christmas, so a few days ago Lego Gingerbread House 40139 arrived. Lego Gingerbread House 40139 The Lego Gingerbread House 40139 is a limited edition set for 2015 and contained 4 bags of Lego, one loose piece and the instruction booklet. I can’t believe it’s the last day of November already which means it’s time for my weekly Monday Happy Things post, 5 things which have made me happy this week. My beautiful daughter turned 4 on Saturday. She received a great mix of presents including Sylvanian Families, Peppa Pig, Dora and Doc McStuffins. She was given some birthday money and she enjoyed spending it, choosing her own clothes and more toys, Tsum Tsum seem to be her new favourites. I’d love to say we made her cake, but we didn’t. I received my second Happy Paper Club subscription box. I…

I like this period between Halloween and Bonfire Night and Christmas. I enjoy planning and have lists and lists on my phone, laptop and planner 🙂 I’ve started my Christmas Makes and have a few fun things I’d like to make, time permitting. I can’t believe it’s already Monday afternoon but I must squeeze in my weekly Monday happy things post. This week I’ve had lots of things to make me happy, they include: With so much going on at the moment I need to make sure I have time to relax so picked up a copy of the new…

We had a lovely half term but I was glad that my children went back to school and nursery today. We had a really busy week including visits from grand parents, a trip to the theatre and our cookery lesson with Ora. Since the clocks have gone back I’m making sure our house is very hygge. I love this concept and it is one that I fully intend to embrace this winter. I picked up a cute gingerbread house tea light holder from Asda at the weekend which is providing a lovely seasonal feel to our mantelpiece. Last week I attempted Salted…

I posted a few pics of our gingerbread house on Instagram yesterday and got comments saying I was far too early for Christmas! Since when was a gingerbread house just for Christmas? I think they make a pretty good treat for Halloween too as they are really versatile and easy to decorate for any season. Decorating a Halloween gingerbread house As we’re currently in the middle of half term we decorated a gingerbread house as part of our Halloween celebrations. This is always a great activity to do with my children and it kept them occupied all afternoon. It also…
