I was recently asked if I would like to try Baobab, it’s the latest super-fruit that is grown in South Africa and is harvested and turned into a nutrient rich powder by the Eden Project in Cornwall. They sell it as a smoothie in their Rainforest Biome, and it is now available to buy in sachet form through their online shop. Gram for gram, baobab fruit has six times more vitamin C than an orange and more calcium than a glass of milk. Baobab also benefits from having three times more iron than red meat, six times as much potassium…

In 1983 I was 6. Margaret Thatcher was Prime Minister, the pound coin replaced the pound note and a pint of milk cost just 21p. Luckily for me I’m a hoarder so it didn’t take me long to root out my old school photos from 1983 as well as my exercise books and diaries. Thank goodness I’ve changed in the last 30 years! I found this hilarious drawing I did when I was 6. Look at my Princess Leia hair! I think that’s a recorder next to my mouth, not sure what else it could be…. I can happily say…

Being the good-hearted blogger that I am, I put myself forward to tell you about some chocolate treats from Hotel Chocolat. They sell a huge range of milk, white and dark chocolates in all shapes and sizes. Hotel Chocolat have some great products for Christmas, including advent calendars, chocolate hampers and stocking fillers. I was sent a yummy Jolly Santa to taste and review. This is what I was expecting: Unfortunately this is what I received: Hmm, I think once upon a time it was a Jolly Santa but the courier must have dropped it at some point. When I opened…

I spent yesterday afternoon baking my first apple cake. The recipe was suggested by Sian Hallewell, and was handpicked by Jean Christophe Novelli to appear in the new cookery book Let’s Get Cooking! by Flora Cuisine. Let’s Get Cooking! contains 30 everyday recipes, from simple suppers to great cakes, by mums and dads from across the UK. It was created after they ran a recipe competition on their Facebook page earlier in the year. Flora Cuisine is a healthy cooking oil which is great for frying, roasting and baking. It has 45% less saturated fat than olive oil which means…

I love eating fish and always make sure the toddler eats a healthy portion at least once a week too. One of our favourite recipes is for tuna pasta bake. We’re not big on celebrating Halloween but I can’t resist making some Halloween treats. I received a box of Ghostbusters Stay Puft Quality Marshmallows from my favourite sweetshop Cybercandy and thought I would turn them into spooky marshmallows. The marshmallows were tightly squeezed in the box, so I emptied them out and let them breathe and regain their shape. I then sorted out the best, evenly shaped ones (size-ist, I know) and got to work with my edible marker pen. What do you think of my spooky Halloween marshmallows? A great quick craft for kids big and small! Ghostbusters Stay…

Am I allowed to say the weather is too hot for us? We like cool weather and we are sweltering in this sticky heat. Tomorrow my husband has promised we can go to an air-conditioned mall! The only good thing about this heat is that it’s perfect for eating ice lollies. The toddler has been sampling the new Only Natural’s MOSHI MONSTER 100% fruit lollies. Dan Brown, Dad and founder of ‘It’s Only Natural’ said: “My son loves Moshi Monsters, it’s the biggest kid’s phenomenon I can remember, but a very creative and positive world for children to engage…
