    Are you a bum genius?

A while ago I attended a Nappucino to learn more about real nappies. The Borough I live in give vouchers towards the cost of real nappies to encourage people to give them a go. To be honest I have struggled with real nappies but I try to use them whenever I can, especially when we are staying close to home. We were sent two bumGenius V4 from baby kind to try.   The bumGenius v4 is a stay-dry, one-size pocket nappy.   The good points: built in waterproof outer cover and inner lining hook and loop or poppers to fasten…

    Land of Golden Sleep

We’re really fortunate that Edward is a good sleeper. However, not everyone baby is a good sleeper and the latest Pampers campaign may be of interest. As part of the launch of the new Baby-Dry nappy, Pampers have just launched the Land of Golden Sleep where mums can find helpful hints and tips to help their little ones fall asleep! Apparently while your baby sleeps they can wee up to 12 times a night! Until now the link between weeing and baby’s sleep has not been fully understood. However, the results of new research, pioneered by Pampers, offers exciting findings.…

    Listography: Books and Babies

Books and babies is the theme for this weeks’ Listography over at Kate Takes 5. I love to read and I really want Edward to enjoy it too. We have books all over the house and keep a box of his books in the lounge so he can pull them out and look through them any time of the day. The first book I bought for him was Faces (Baby’s Very First Book).  It’s a simple cloth book with high-contrast images, crinkly pages and a mirror, designed to stimulate baby’s senses. Edward loved looking at this and we used it…

    New shoes

Edward was lucky to be sent some lovely Pre Shoes to try. Edward loves them and has worn them every day since they arrived because they stay on his feet! At 11 months Edward has as many pairs of shoes as I do but he’s worn very few on them more than once, usually because they don’t stay on his feet. The pre shoes however are a firm favourite. Most importantly they are comfortable. They are made of soft leather with an anti-slip suede sole. Secondly they stay on. They are a simple slip on (hooray, no laces or buckles)…

Tommee Tippee DECT Digital Movement and Sound Monitor

When I was pregnant a reliable baby monitor was top of my list of items to purchase. We were recommended a certain brand as part of our nursery advice at John Lewis, purchased the monitor and have used it ever since. 11 months later and Tommee Tippee have recently launched a new Digital Movement & Sound Monitor that uses Digital Enhanced Cordless Technology (DECT) offering interference free monitoring. We were sent one to try out. A key feature of this monitor is its unique sensor pad, designed to sit under the baby’s cot mattress. This monitors and sounds an alarm…

    The Baby Show

Pampers kindly sent us tickets to attend The Baby Show, so this morning we headed down to the Excel Centre. We had a great time and managed to purchase a snooze shade which is the only item I really went looking for. The show seemed smaller than the one held at Olympia but this was a good thing as it seemed much more manageable to get round. The show was well set out and the aisles between the stalls were wide enough to accommodate buggies galore! We made good use of the Pampers changing station and found out we were…

What do men really think of pushchairs?

What do men think of pushchairs? We have a very trendy friend who only ever uses one hand to push his son around but I’m pleased to say when we’re out and about my husband does his fair share of pushing. So I thought I’d ask his for his thoughts on the Quinny Zapp Xtra: What do men really think of pushchairs? The first I heard of the Quinny Zapp Xtra was back in September when my wife told me she was a QuinnyCaster. My pushchair knowledge was limited to what I had seen as part of our John Lewis…

    Baby bouncer

A couple of weeks ago we bought Edward a Lindam bouncer. It was recommended by all our friends and seemed simple enough to use. [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1gJF_QwpxI&fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0] He loves it and spends some time in it each day.
