Our Summer holidays really are nearing the end. Week 6 has been the quietest of them all, we’ve spent a lot of time at home and I seem to have spent most of it struggling to get hold of school uniform!
We’ve stayed local, venturing to the cinema to see Planes 2 again and enjoyed a few lunches out. My 4 year old had one of his friends from nursery over to play which was surprisingly fun, even if he did want to play with every toy we have.
I’ve managed to give some old shelves the Annie Sloan treatment and now they’re up being used rather than languishing in a cupboard. I’ve been messing around with fabric dye and toying with the idea of making a small shibori quilt. I bought a lovely vintage wooden map showing the Counties of England in a local charity shop. I’m really looking forward to listing some more stock in my Etsy shop although I can’t decide whether to keep this or not.
We’ve baked cupcakes and gingerbread. I’ve stitched a London bus for a fabric ATC swap and Little Sis wore Big Girl Pants for a couple of hours without accident.
My 4 year old has spent hours crafting, creating pictures, paintings, cards and letters which we’ve posted off to friends and family. I think he’s ready to go to Reception but am thankful we have a few more days to enjoy first.
One more update to go.

September 3, 2014 at 9:05 pmIt sounds like you have had a lovely 6 weeks, I think you speak for most parents when you tell how the last week has been less active… A lot of parents are just looking forward to peace and a clean house again. My lg starts nursery this September part time so i know I’m looking forward to that, even though I will miss her!! xx
