I can’t quite believe it’s a week since my last Reasons to be cheerful post but we’ve been really busy and lots of stuff is going on:
I’m hoping we might have made progress with Little Sis and her colic and reflux problems. Our house looks like a dispensary with all the different products we’ve been trying. Lots of people have offered advice which I’m grateful for.
We’re having a good old de-clutter. You might think this is a strange thing to be happy about but with so little free time to keep on top of the household chores the general mess has been getting me down. I have heaps of baby clothes and a moses basket to go to a good home, and the house is beginning to be bearable.
I feel like I’m coming out of the other side of that new mum period and am coping ok. I knew if I could get through the first 6 weeks I would be alright. It has been hard work but I have an album full of photos which show we’ve not only coped but had a great time.
Love is in the air and I’ve signed up for a Valentine’s Day swap which sounds like a lot of fun. Can’t wait to get crafty again and make something that doesn’t involve painting with potatoes or drawing with crayons.
My blog has been put forward as a Family Blog that Sainsbury’s Love and I’ve been invited to become a member of the Sainsbury’s Finance Family Blogger Network alongside some of my very favourite blogs. I do love our local Sainsbury’s, especially their quirky seasonal produce!
And finally, I also heard about the Pin Addicts Challenge to make one item from your Pinterest boards each month. I love pinning and have tried lots of projects but think this will help motivate me more. More information can be found at Sew Scrumptious.

‘Tis finally the season to be jolly which means I’ve been snapping up everything gingerbread to show you over the next couple of weeks. My energy levels are disappearing but I have a few swaps to honour before the arrival of Second Baby.
This week I’ve been making a new type of gingerbread house for one swap partner, very simple with a red and white bead hanger and a metal heart on the door.
I’m hoping my crafting mojo will return soon. I’ve been struggling to pull out my sewing basket after Edward has gone to bed yet there are so many seasonal projects whizzing around my head!
Linking up with handmade monday and handmade thursday – pop over and visit some other crafty peeps!
It’s that time of the month when I need to sit down and see how my Day Zero progress is going. It’s been a really busy but productive month.
14. Complete a 365 day photo challenge
Our baby blog has now been updated for 14 months. It was originally started by my husband to record Edward’s first days and I wondered how we would have time to keep up with it! When my husband was hospitalised I used it as a way of making sure he didn’t miss out on how Edward was growing and I’ve managed to post every day. I’m not sure how long I’ll keep adding it to it but I recently stopped and got told off by nanny..
17. Plant a tree
Edward LOVES trees so hubby bought and planted something special. Unfortunately it died.
32. Take part in at least one swap a month for 6 months
I’ve been busy swapping which I love. I usually manage a couple of swaps a month but I’ve made a big effort since December to participate in at least one swap a month. I’ve tried some new crafty projects, made new friends and helped diversify my stash!
33. Use my fabric stash before I buy any more!
I’ve been really good and not bought fabric for ages and relied on swaps to add to my collection. I’ve also been really brave and let a good friend come over and help herself. Brownie points in heaven please!
56. Go to an Olympic event in London in 2012
Fingers crossed for this one. We’ve applied for tickets via the ballot and we’re waiting to hear if we’ve been successful.
62. Spend more time on my family history research
I’ve made a big step with putting my family history project online. It’s very much a work in progress but I’m hoping now it’s online other people will find it and connect with it.
88. Improve my blog
I attended BlogCamp which gave me lots of ideas for improving my blog. Hopefully they are paying off.
