Regular readers will know that I love to craft and purchase an insane amount of craft books. Sewing is my favourite thing to do in my limited free time but often I’m struck by the fear of failure which holds me back from trying new things. So when I saw a new swap on Instagram I bravely signed up.
The swap was quite specific to those who were fans of the NanaCompany style. I’ve had Amy Sinibaldi’s book for a while, I love her blog and her style but never got round to making anything from the book. I knew this was my opportunity!
I made an inspiration mosaic featuring my favourite projects, was paired up and started my planning my main make. I made a mug rug featuring a patchwork flower and a little embroidery, following the pattern in Sweetly Stitched Handmades. I then made a small needle book from a free tutorial on Amy’s blog. I sent them off to my partner and eagerly awaited some happy mail.
I wasn’t disappointed. I received a lovely patchwork drawstring bag (pictured above) and a sweet patchwork pin cushion
and pretty needle book

My partner also sent me some lovely extras including a rainbow of 30 hexagons, buttons and tape. It’s been a while since I signed up for any swaps but I’m glad I joined in with this one. I loved making the mug rug. The pattern was easy to follow and it was so nice to have something to make for someone else.
