Schleich Ocean figurines

Posted on September 20, 2015December 11, 2016 by jenny

I’m always keen for my children to have a range of toys. As much as they love their tv or film tie-in toys I also love the fact they have other toys which encourage free play such as Schleich handpainted toy figurines and accessories.

We have a collection of mainly animals which are fun for encouraging small world play, learning about animals and simple play where instructions are not necessary.

We received a selection of toys from the World of Nature/Wild Life/Ocean range including the Schleich Ocean set (41407), a Blue Whale (14696), Killer whale (14697), Dolphin (14699), Blue shark (14701) and Sawfish (14724).

The Schleich Ocean set contains 4 species. The Great Barrier Reef is one of the most fascinating underwater habitats on earth. Among all of the species that call it home, you’ll find sea turtles, manta rays, seahorses, and sharks.

We were sent an assortment of other sea animals from a large Killer whale to a Sawfish. I didn’t know much about them but the Schleich website has information about each one and the children loved learning about them.

Did you know that each animal is hand-painted?  I think each item is well made and realistic but they are great quality too. My 3 year old played with the animals on a tray, we added glass beads and some of our beach treasures to create a fun sensory experience. The children also played with them at bath time. I’m not sure they are really meant as bath toys but the children had fun recreating the ocean and seemed to have fun making up stories about them.

I can’t believe these are still around, I played with Schleich when I was younger.
