On my mantle – April

My mantle has a bit of a mono theme going on this month which means I’m bang on trend for once! I was actually quite relieved to take down our Easter decorations this year and return to some normality (if that’s possible with a 3 and 5 year old). The clutter that comes with family life quite often brings me down and I seem to be forever battling to keep our living space functional but comfortable.

Fortunately we had some friends over one weekend so I had a major tidy and the house isn’t too bad. I’ve had my usual Spring de-clutter and clean too 🙂

Pride of place is my vintage bus blind. I love it, and it reminds me of happy times in our old house and neck of the woods in north London.

There is lots of light with my handmade marquee number, one of my many tea light houses and a jar of leftover Easter sweets. (I’m sure we can’t be the only household who still has stacks of Easter chocolate around.)

I framed a vintage letter card in a Nkuku frame which I really like. I managed to pick up a similar frame in Wilko the other day so I’m on a mission to make something pretty to go in it.

I usually have a vintage find or two to display but I haven’t found anything of note on recent trips. Yesterday I picked up another vintage scrabble set to upcycle. The letters fit perfectly with my monochrome theme so perhaps I will make something to display on my mantle!

Love your marque number, that’s such a great use for LED candles.

Thanks, I wish I had thought of it myself!
