A couple of weeks ago I was asked to take part in a collaborative quilt with some other crafty bloggers. The idea was that we each made a quilt block which would get sent to the next blogger via InPost. They would then attach their block to the quilt and send it on to the next person.
I made a couple of blocks as I couldn’t decide what to make. This morning I received a text message to say our #CraftTheParcel was waiting to be collected at the locker I designated. I scanned the QR code I had been sent and picked up the parcel. It was incredibly easy.
I did a quick poll at home and it was decided that the gingerbread house quilt block should be added to the quilt. I made it a few weeks ago using a house pattern block and picked some fabrics from my stash to make it resemble a gingerbread house.
This evening I hand quilted around some of the blocks using embroidery thread.
Then I attached it to the quilt using my sewing machine.
Here’s the quilt. Tomorrow I will be sending it off to Bakes, Books and My Boys via InPost, and she will add the final block.
I can’t wait to see the final version. You can follow the progress by searching for the #CraftTheParcel hashtag on Twitter.
