We’re now back home after a lovely long weekend away spent with my mum. We’re all ready to face a new term the only downside is that I’ve come down with tonsillitis yet again, with conjunctivitis thrown in for good measure.
As soon as we arrived home I realised our Easter decorations had been up for far too long so I was more than happy to take them down. The house is already looking a lot less cluttered. Did you know it’s St George’s Day tomorrow? It’s not an official national holiday just yet but, according to Wikipedia, St. George’s day may be celebrated with anything English from morris dancing to a Punch and Judy show!
My children love to hear all about Saint George and the dragon, it’s a great story, and we thought we would make our own dragon.
What you will need:
wooden spoons
green paint
googly eyes
craft foam or felt
sticky dots
Wooden spoon dragon for St George
We painted a couple of wooden spoons with green paint and left them to dry. We added googly eyes and cut wings from green craft foam which my 4 year old stuck on with sticky dots. He added some details to the wings with a black felt tip pen.
We chose a couple of colours from my felt stash which we cut to make our dragons’ fiery breath and these were also stuck on with sticky dots. Finally we added a small triangle of green craft foam at the end of the wooden spoon for a tail.

Love how cute these dragons are #parentingpinitparty
