Sew, Mama, Sew fabric giveaway

I thought I would participate in the Sew, Mama, Sew May Giveaway Day 2011. Up for grabs I have one metre of Royal Wedding fabric which I bought from my favourite department store, John Lewis. The fabric was produced to commemorate the wedding of Prince William and Miss Catherine Middleton on Friday 29th 2011. I was going to make something commemorative for the Royal Wedding but never got round to it. Rather than leave it sitting in my fabric drawer I thought I would offer it to someone who might actually use it! It would make lovely summery bunting, a cushion cover, could be incorporated into a quilt or even just kept for posterity.

  • 100% cotton

But I think this would be some fabric I would have to get in my hands and contemplate about before I make a final decision. I’d love to win it – such an awesome giveaway. What a charming fabric panal-although I’m all the way from across the pond, I’ve been awe struck by the Royal wedding and would love to fashion something up from that lovely piece!

What a wonderful find. Pillowcases or a wall hanging would be fun.

Like many people have been suggesting, pillowcases are a great idea!

Maybe I’d frame it. 🙂 I’m a British expat in the US, so I got up at 4am to watch the wedding! My 5 year old got up on her own at 5am so she could watch it with me. Would be fun to win this fabric. Thanks for the giveaway!

I would make pillow covers and zippy bags. Then I would cut out the main design like you have pictured and feature it front and center in a quilt block and frame a piece under glass. What a wonderful memory of that special day.
