The lovely people at Stokke asked if we would be interested in reviewing a Table Top for our Tripp Trapp. Now we all love our Tripp Trapp. It makes mealtimes easier as we can all sit at the table together, it enables me to put Edward somewhere safe whilst I’m busy in the kitchen, it grows with your child and it’s the only item of baby furniture that I would recommend to anyone. To be honest though, I was a bit sceptical about the point of the Table Top.
When I opened the box I was pleasantly surprised to find there was more to the Table Top than I thought!
Edward took to using it straight away. The tray has a no spill rail which means when he knocks his bottle over the liquid is easily contained. It is easy to wipe clean and can be rinsed under the tap (but not in the dishwasher).
It features six different templates that can be inserted under the transparent tray. The pictures are great tools for interaction between you and your child and have been designed in collaboration with educationalists. Each template can be changed to the age of your child and can be used to talk and help them learn about numbers and counting, naming animals and vehicles and even relationships. Edward love giraffes so we’re currently using the giraffe template, which he loves looking at.
The plastic tray comes with suction cups which are strong enough to prevent little hands from lifting the tray up and firmly attach it to your table.
Although the table top is an additional cost to the Tripp Trapp I think it is a lovely extra. Yes it’s a tray but it’s also a lovely, stylish, interactive tool which can be used to make meal and play times fun.
The Table Top was provided for the purpose of review.
