Win a £50 hamper from Hipp Organic

Worried how you’ll get through Christmas with the children? Fear not, HiPP Organic have created their Top 10 Tips which will help you have an enjoyable Christmas and make it to January in one piece!

1. Set a present budget for baby and stick to it!

They’ll probably be more interested in the boxes and bows anyway!

2. Delegate

Plan ahead and put your guests in charge of special jobs. Photography is a great one to hand over – you won’t have time and will want a record of this special day.

3. Rule The Routine

One of the benefits of hosting Christmas is that you can do it on your terms and time dinner around baby’s routine.  Use nap time to prepare the veggies, to enjoy your own meal or open presents.

4. One Christmas Outfit Just Isn’t Enough

Have a couple of Christmas outfits in reserve for baby and for you – just in case baby spreads more than just joy this Christmas

5. Say ‘Yes’

If anyone suggests they bring a dish or a side order accept their offer.  It will make your life easier and allow you to spend more time with your family.

6. Baby Proof The Tree

Avoid decorating the lower branches of the tree.  Baubles are really tempting to babies, so make sure they are out of reach.

7. Teach Them How To Share

If you have two sets of grandparents coming they will all want to spend time with their baby grandchild.  Consider giving them a specific baby related role on the day to ensure they get their fix!

8. Give Baby A Break

Whilst babies love attention, too much from different people at once could make them irritable and fractious, so make sure they get their quiet time too.

9. Keep A Watchful Eye

If older children are sharing your day watch out for unwrapped presents with small pieces that baby could get hold of.

10. Have a HiPPy  Christmas

Follow the HiPP Organic Christmas menu for a stress free meal that baby will love

Breakfast with Hipp Organic

We were invited to try out some of the latest products from Hipp Organic over breakfast at Bills in Covent Garden. I’m lucky that my 7 month old loves her food and is happy to try anything – perfect as Hipp Organic have introduced ten new yummy recipes!

We’ve already tried out the new savoury pouches but Little Sis got to try the new My First Yoghurt pots in banana and raspberry. These went down very well and I will be stocking up on them! They provide 23% RDA of calcium in 2 pots which give me peace of mind as she’s recently gone off milk completely.

We tried them out as soon as we got home. As you can see from her face, she clearly knew she was trying something different.

The pots contain 50g of real yoghurt and fruit puree so are the perfect size for a snack or with a meal. She loved it! The only problem was she wanted more, check out her sad face when she realised she’d finished the pot!

The new yoghurts don’t need to be kept in the fridge so are great for picnics or taking out for the day. There’s absolutely no worry if they haven’t been eaten and will be perfectly safe to eat another day. There are also a pair of fruity desserts (great from 7 months) and two new tray meals (from 9 months). Plenty to keep Little Sis going!

Review: HiPP Organic savoury pouches

Little Sis was sent some of the new savoury pouches* from HiPP Organic to try. At 7 months she has a very healthy appetite and seems to be enjoying everything she tastes. This brand new range of savoury pouches includes varieties specifically developed for babies from both four months and seven months. HiPP Organic has cleverly incorporated organic rapeseed oil, rich in Omega 3, into the new pouches, along with their finest organic vegetables and meats providing an easy and convenient source of nutrients essential for growth and development.

We were sent four of the new pouches to try: ‘Carrots, Cauliflower & Peas’ and ‘Potatoes, Carrots and Beef’ from 4 months and ‘Creamy Tomato and Leek Pasta’ and ‘Scrummy Spaghetti Bolognese’ from 7 months. All pouches provide a guaranteed 25% of babies ALA/Omega 3 in a day.

Although Little Sis is just shy of 7 months she seems to like a variety of textures. Some days she’s happy with smooth yoghurts and fruit purees and other days she really wants to get stuck into something with a bit more substance. We tried the Creamy Tomato and Leek Pasta which went down really well, even the little lumps. HiPP are the first baby food company to create Stage 2 food with lumps. This is perfect timing for Little Sis as we can see her turning the lumps round in her mouth as she gets used to the texture. Encouraging chewing is really important at this stage of weaning and I’m so pleased to see it’s the right thing for her. Happy baby means happy mum!

The recipes contain no added salt, no artificial additives or preservatives and are made with all organic ingredients. Thank you Hipp for making these products so I don’t have to!
