It’s been a while since we had fun with a paper plate craft but with Chinese New Year coming up next month I thought it would be a good time to try something new. Did you know that 2016 is the Year of the Monkey? I have my own two little monkeys and we’d never made a monkey craft before – but we have now!
How to make a Chinese New Year paper plate monkey
2 x paper plates
brown paint
googly eyes
scissors
black permanent pen
sticky tape
First you need to paint two paper plates with brown paint, then set them aside to dry.
When they are dry take one plate and draw on a mouth and nose and add two googly eyes.
Take the second plate and cut it into two. Take one half and cut it into two again, these are for the ears.
Turn your monkey face over and attach the ears with sticky tape.
There you have a simple Chinese New Year paper plate monkey! This kept my children occupied after school 🙂
