5 reasons to visit Legoland Windsor

Posted on January 24, 2016January 24, 2016 by jenny

We’re huge fans of Lego. My husband and I grew up with it and have grown into AFOLs (Adult Fans of Lego!). The children love saving their pocket money to buy Lego sets, which are frequently featured on my other blog, Treading on Lego. We are hugely inspired by Lego and I recently had fun sharing 11 Lego crafts for kids and adults which we have made over the last few years.

We try to visit Legoland Windsor every year, we’re lucky to only live 30 minutes away, and we’re already planning our next awesome family day out. In case you haven’t been, I thought I would share what makes it a great family day out.

5 reasons to visit Legoland Windsor

There is something for every age. We all have our favourite parts, Daddy loves the Lego Star Wars Miniland, Mummy loves all of Miniland, Big Brother the Splash Safari in Duplo Valley and Little Sis can’t wait to go on the Atlantis Submarine Voyage again.

You can go whatever the weather. We’ve been on blistering hot days and wet days, as well as everything in between. We just dress accordingly and the children never seem to mind what the weather is like. Legoland Windsor run special themed events throughout the year, the fireworks sound amazing.

I think a day at Legoland Windsor is good value but there are ways to save money on resort tickets. You can buy tickets in advance or look free vouchers in the newspapers

There is always something new. Last year we really enjoyed the new Lego Friends Heartlake City area. We visited Olivia’s House,  travelled on the Heartlake City Express, shopped at the Heartlake Shopping Mall and watched the show spectacular Lego Friends to the Rescue at the Heartlake Harbour arena whilst eating our picnic. New for 2016 is the Lego Death Star for Star Wars Miniland which we’re really excited about seeing!

fun at legoland

A day at Legoland Windsor is educational, inspiring and, most of all, fun for the whole family. On our last visit we discovered the Imagination Centre and the free play area. Despite our collection of Lego at home the children had to stay and play for a bit.

Have you visited Legoland Windsor before? If so, I would love to hear your favourite ride or attraction.

As soon as Bear is big enough I think this will be somewhere to go! It must be good if you go every year.

Havent visited for ages, but always have a great time when we go. Main thing that puts us off currently is youngest gets travel sick and it is a good 2 hour drive for us!
