The Life Planner and looking forward to 2016

Posted on December 31, 2015March 24, 2017 by jenny

I’ve been toying with the idea of using a Planner to get organised in 2016. I’m a bit of a list keeper and find writing lists and crossing things off really helpful. The only problem is where to keep them. Add to my lists the family calendar in the kitchen with the children’s activities and playdates, the calendar on my iPhone with my PTA and choir commitments and then scribbled ideas for blog posts and that is a lot of things to remember.

The Life Planner

I invested in the Life Planner from Lollipop which I first heard about when I attended the Blogtacular blogging conference earlier this year. There was a free sample in the amazing goody bags we received which made me buy the full year planner, I got a great discount thanks to Black Friday too.

The Life Planner

It’s not the prettiest Planner but I’m hoping that it’s simple structure will allow me to keep on top of everything in 2016. It’s spiral bound and there are weekly and monthly planners which I like. Although access to an electronic calendar is handy when I’m out and about, I find it easier to look at a page and cross things out if necessary. A paper trail makes more sense to my brain if I can see my train of thought. It takes me a while to write in a new journal of diary but I have begun to personalise my Life Planner and really hope it helps me feel in control of my life.

Craft projects in 2016

I don’t have big plans for 2016. Making sure the family are happy and healthy, decorating the house, and prioritising some of my craft projects before I buy any more fabric are the main things. 2016 will see me finish the Shipping Forecast quilt I l wrote about in May, a Liberty rainbow strip quilt for my daughter, Scrabble board cushion for me, and an R2-D2 quilt for my son’s 6th birthday.

I enjoy some of the benefits of blogging but often find I’m spending evenings writing blog posts for a toy my children don’t want or need. Next year there will be more making time for myself with baking, sewing and crafting with the children. I’m so excited to see what happens!
