Great British John Adams Bake Off!

Posted on September 21, 2015September 17, 2019 by jenny

Great British Bake Off is one of my favourite programmes but I have to admit my bakes are usually gingerbread or vintage cake recipes, I’m not really one for creating a show stopper in my spare time. I have two junior bakers who love to help out in the kitchen too. We love to bake biscuits and cakes together and have even tried our hand at pizza and bread too.

We were sent three new fun food craft products from the John Adams range so my children could join in the Great British John Adams Bake Off fun at home. We’ve been trying them over the last few days, I’ve shared some pics of our creations on Twitter and Instagram too.

The Mini-Makes Cupcakes kit contains everything you need to make delicious mini cupcakes by mixing and melting – no baking is required! We gathered our ingredients of rice krispies and chocolate then ground the rice kripsies in the biscuit grinder and melted the chocolate in the special melting unit. We combined the two in the special moulds and left them to set in the fridge. We had to experiment a few times as we had problems getting the cupcakes out of the mould but it is a fun way to make minicupcakes. The kit also contains 25 tools and accessories to decorate your cakes including cake boxes, stickers and a stand to display your creations.

The MixUbbles Candy Flavour Drinks Maker lets you make your own flavoured drinks. My 5 year old loved this, probably as we mixed our drinks using lemonade which he’s not normally allowed! You add the special powder in the MixUbbles character, then place it inside the mixing unit with your liquid of choice. Turn the dial and watch as the flavours are released. You can make all kinds of drinks and flavours.

The Chocolate Lolly Maker helps you make your own lollies. You melt your chocolate buttons in the melting unit, pour them into the special shaped moulds and leave them to set. You can stamp messages on the lollies and wrap them to give as gifts or keep for yourself. This is a lovely way to make lollies and they are just the right size for a treat. I can easily see us using this to make homemade gifts at Christmas.

The Mini-Makes Cupcakes has an RRP £17.99, the MixUbbles Candy Flavour Drinks Maker has an RRP £19.99 and the Chocolate Lolly Maker an RRP £17.99. The products are available in good toy stores and online. For a list of stockists call John Adams on 01480 414361 or visit www.johnadams.co.uk
