Creative fun with Plasticine

I love making my own home made play dough for the children. It’s really cheap to make and lasts for ages. However, we were offered some products from the Plasticine range by Flair, the original modelling clay and a timeless classic that can be used in a huge variety of ways! The products are aimed at boys and girls aged from 3+ up to any age.

We received a large selection including a Plasticine FunTUBulous bucket with 7 bumper sticks of Plasticine and 4 fun cutters, which are stored in a sturdy plastic bucket with carry handle. We also received the Basix Assortment, Colourmax, and a Plasticine Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Squidgems. This little lot have kept the children busy for hours!

My children took a little time to get used to the Plasticine as it’s much stiffer than home made play dough. It has definite advantages however, not least its non-hardening characteristics. Yep, you can leave it out overnight and it doesn’t dry out!

We all had fun playing with the Plasticine. The smell reminded me of my own childhood but the range of colours available now is so much better. We made some fun bugs by adding googly eyes and small twigs and gave them matchbox houses.

Plasticine is competitively priced. The FunTUBbulous set costs £6.99 but prices start as low as 99p for the Basix set.  My 5 year old likes to follow instructions so had lots of fun with the Plasticine Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Squidgems, priced at £1.49. We’re looking forward to hours more fun with the Plasticine products.
