Pancakes with Clarks Original Maple Syrup

Posted on February 17, 2015January 8, 2023 by jenny

Today is one of my favourite days of the year – Shrove Tuesday, now commonly known as Pancake Day. As if this time of year isn’t busy enough (and we have tons of birthdays, Valentine’s Day and half term) we can look forward to cooking some delicious Pancakes.

This year we’re mixing it up a little by trying something new. We were asked if we’d like to try Clarks Maple Syrup with our pancakes. Our family love pancakes but we’re quite traditional in that we like them with a squeeze of lemon and a sprinkle of sugar. This morning we tried them with a dash of Clarks Maple Syrup too.

Clarks Original Maple SyrupI have to admit I found it a little too sweet but my husband and 4 year old loved their pancakes with Clarks Original Maple Syrup! You can see my son eating his pancakes with Maple Syrup, blueberries and sugar too. Fortunately he only had two pancakes and I made him brush his teeth straight away!

Pancakes with Clarks Original Maple Syrup I think I’ll be sticking to lemon and sugar but they enjoyed it so much I can see us having pancakes again very soon.

pancakes with maple syrupClarks are keen to promote maple as the best choice. Maple is actually a really healthy choice as, gram for gram, Clarks Original Maple Syrup contains 45% less sugar than refined white sugar. I would love to know – how will you be eating yours? Check out #MapleVLemon on Twitter to see what others are saying!

Disclosure – we were provided with a voucher and a bottle of Clarks Original Maple Syrup to try out some of the delicious recipes from Clarks website.

I’ll always remember the excitement of pancake day when I was a kid. I grew up in Canada (the land of maple syrup lol), but we always are our pancakes with the artificlly flavoured full sugar syrup instead. I much prefer to use maple syrup now though! Never heard of lemon juice & sugar until we moved here.

I like lemon and sugar on mine, hubby has golden syrup (so im sure he would love the maple syrup!) and both kids chose Nutella on theirs this year. As you can see we always needs lots of toppings lol! x
