KDUK Mumbassadors playing toy review

Peppa Pig Fun Phonics

Last year I went to a workshop at my son’s school to learn how they were taught Phonics. Reception is a really important year and I have seen my son learning so much, his reading, writing and letters are coming on in leaps and bounds. I’ve mentioned before that we’re currently working with KD UK and they kindly sent us a Peppa Pig Fun Phonics toy to help him learn.

Peppa Pig Fun Phonics

This is a lovely bright toy with a handy handle which makes it easy to hold and carry. My 3 and 4 year old have both been enjoying playing with it.

Peppa Pig Fun Phonics

As you can see from my photo above, there are twenty six light up keys with letters, pictures and numbers to help your little one get to grips with sounds, phonics, spelling, colours, letters and numbers.

You can use the pointer at the top to change the activity, there are 10 to chose from including letter names, letter sounds, spelling, observation and memory. My 3 year old loves Find the object. Peppa prompts “Find the train” and five of the buttons are backlit. You have to press the correct one and a sound plays if you get the answer right (or wrong!).

For ease of play there is a handy repeat button.

The activity is all in one piece so there are no parts to be lost.

It’s a lovely toy and I like the fact that both my children can play with it. I think that seeing and hearing the letters definitely helps learning and the added bonus of Peppa and her friends make this a must-have toy for Peppa fans. The only thing missing is a volume and off button. We can’t leave this toy in the toy box in case it gets knocked and the voice of Peppa starts calling out for some attention!

Well, toys have certainly come on a long way since I was a kid!! I know so many of my nieces and nephews adore Peppa Pig, so this looks like it could be a great birthday present for one (or all) of them. Thanks for the review 🙂
