days out holidays

Our Summer holiday round up (Week 3)

The Summer holidays are flying by and I’m quite enjoying writing about our adventures. Over the last week we have been on holiday and had a few busy days in London. Here’s what we’ve been up to:

We visited a beautiful National Trust property called Stoke-sub-Hamdon Priory situated between Yeovil and Ilminster. Despite being National Trust members we rarely visit any properties so it was lovely to make a brief visit and explore the site. We also re-visited Nunney Castle as Little Sis demanded to go to a castle.

Whilst we were away we spent lots of time outdoors. We went kite flying, took our model boat to the boating lake, walked to the White Horse, and played pooh sticks.

The children have spent hours playing with their Lego Duplo Batcave Adventure set, we’ve been crafting lots including at our local library.

I’ve been busy stitching the hexagons from Wild Olive’s Autumn Stitching Club project. I just need to put the cushion together so I will be showing you the finished result next week. I’ve won some Aurifil threads and DYLON dyes so expect to see me creating something with those.

Since we’ve been back in London Big Brother had his first experience of pond dipping for a friends’ birthday party and we enjoyed attending the premiere of the new Thomas & Friends film Tale of the Brave, followed by lunch at Five Guys in Covent Garden.

I  think it’s safe to say we’re keeping busy and enjoying the Summer holidays. It’s feeling Autumnal at the moment but my fingers are crossed for the sun to come back out soon.

Looks like you are having a lovely time. My two aren’t school age yet so they’re at home with me all the time so in turn, I often struggle to find new things to do but I have lots of things planned for when they’re a bit older and can appreciate things more.
