Christmas tree for toddlers

toddler friendly tree

It’s that time of the month, the PinAddicts Pinterest Challenge. The idea is to choose something from your Pinterest boards to create and link up each month. I saw a small felt Christmas tree which had been made for a toddler to play with. I thought I would adapt this for my own toddler so here is my Christmas tree for toddlers.

You will need:

  • a large gift bag
  • a selection of felt ornaments
  • velcro stick ons

I bought an extra large gift bag from Ikea which featured a plain Christmas tree. I hung it up using the handle so the toddler could reach it easily.

I then placed one of the velcro dots on the Christmas tree with a corresponding dot on the back of each felt ornament. There’s room for about 12 ornaments.

Then I let the toddler loose! This is a great crafty project as I re-used the felt Christmas decorations I made and he had lots of fun placing them on the tree. The velcro dots are strong enough to support the weight of each decoration and can withstand plenty of use.

I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Very nice and safe, why I never thought of that? My little ones tend to cry they can’t help us with the big tree that much – it will be a perfect solution.

Wish I’d seen this when I still had toddlers
