Reasons to be cheerful

It’s been a while since I last joined in with Reasons the be cheerful (a weekly meme hosted by Michelle).

Little Sis is now 6 weeks old and we all love her to pieces. She has fitted right in to our family and it’s difficult to believe she hasn’t always been here. She’s also starting to smile (not wind related – honest) which makes all those night feeds worthwhile.

Having a young family is incredibly hard work but the hubby and I are beginning to have a bit of time together each evening to remember who we are, why we are together and why we wanted a family – all easily forgotten in the madness of sleepless nights, colic, reflux and seemingly endless nappy changes.

Big Brother seems to be finally over his winter coughs and colds, picked up at nursery over 2 months ago. The last few weeks have been full of the same old bugs being passed around the family and some nights we’ve been running from room to room administering cough medicine and wiping away the snot. We’re all looking forward to sunshine and warmer weather.

We had our second Tumbletots session this week which Big Brother is beginning to enjoy. Little Sis slept soundly whilst we ran round and had some fun climbing, bouncing and crawling around. It is so lovely being out of the house and having fun!

I got back to my driving lessons today as it’s 6 weeks since my csection. It was fantastic being back in the driving seat and I’m really hopeful I’ll pass my test in a couple of weeks – that would definitely be a reason to be cheerful!
